If you're having any issues with adding your payment card to the RingPay app, there are a few things you can try first before contacting support:
- Update your RingPay app
Ensure you are on the latest RingPay app available from your app store. v1.117+ is the minimum version you should be on. - Try re-adding your card
Try removing any existing payment cards from the app and re-add them one by one. As of app version 1.117, we have introduced a new card loading flow to the RingPay app to provide a better experience and enhanced security checks. - Double check your details when adding your card.
Ensure you are entering the correct card number and expiry date etc. Card issuers can often be quite particular with the format you enter your details in. Please ensure the name and address you enter exactly matches your card details / the details your card issuer has on file for you. - Failing 3D Secure checks
As part of adding a card as your funding source, your issuer may require a secondary security check to ensure that it is you who is trying to add your card. Please follow the instructions on screen and approve the transaction in your banking app, if requested. Double check that the approval request matches the transaction you are trying to do. This will usualy be an attempt to add a £0 authorisation from RingPay (or McLEAR). - Contact your card issuer
It's possible that your bank's rules may decide to decline the transaction. Give them a quick call to ask why they may have done so. - Trying to use a non-UK-issued card
All cards used as a funding source should be registered in UK and in your name. Double check you are not accidentally trying to use a card issued outside of the UK. - Commercial cards
Some commercial cards do not support Account Funding Transactions (AFTs), which is the method by which funds are loaded to the RingPay wallet. Contact your card issuer to check if they support this flow, or alternatively try another card.
If you've tried everything above and are still having issues, please get in touch with our support team and provide your name, order number, ring public token (this can be found in the RingPay app) and the last four digits of the card you are trying to add, and we'll investigate further.
